California Department of Child Support


A complete step-by-step web-based guide designed to help employers meet child support requirements in California. Developed by the California Department of Child Support Services (DCSS), it includes procedures on new hire reporting, remitting payments electronically, income withholding procedures and frequently asked questions in a user-friendly format that contains links to critical forms and websites. The Board of Equalization (BOE) has announced that on June 18, 2012, the BOE is expanding electronic services by offering customers a convenient and fast way to register online for tax and fee programs administered by the BOE. Using the new eReg system is free.


The BOE will no longer provide paper applications after June 18, 2012. Taxpayers who do not have Internet access can get customer assistance by visiting or calling their local BOE district office.

International Trade Administration

The International Trade Administration (ITA) is a U.S. government agency that helps U.S. businesses compete in the global marketplace. The ITA is part of the Department of Commerce and was established in 1980. Small Business Development Centers (SBDC)

Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) are a network of organizations that provide free or low-cost counseling and training to small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs. SBDCs are a partnership between the Small Business Administration (SBA), educational institutions, and other public and private partners.

SGV Economic Partnership

The San Gabriel Valley Economic Partnership's Business Assistance Program provides free, individualized support to businesses located in or relocating to the San Gabriel Valley in order to facilitate their success. The Partnership acts a confidential liaison between business, local government, educational institutions, and public agencies to facilitate the coordination of programs and resources and assist with a variety of challenges, including:


Problem-solving between businesses and government agencies

Leveraging incentives, programs, and resources throughout Los Angeles County

Identifying job training resources or qualified staff

Obtaining permits and licensing

Accessing public financing programs (local, state, federal) including industrial development bonds

Site selection

Obtaining labor market, economic, and demographic information, taxes and fee abatements

The Department of Labor (DOL)

The Department of Labor (DOL) fosters and promotes the welfare of the job seekers, wage earners, and retirees of the United States by improving their working conditions, advancing their opportunities for profitable employment, protecting their retirement and health care benefits, helping employers find workers, strengthening free collective bargaining, and tracking changes in employment, prices, and other national economic measurements. In carrying out this mission, the Department administers a variety of Federal labor laws including those that guarantee workers’ rights to safe and healthful working conditions; a minimum hourly wage and overtime pay; freedom from employment discrimination; unemployment insurance; and other income support.

US Department of Treasury

U.S. Department of Labor

The U.S. Department of Labor has been working to modernize and expand access to paid family leave, advocating for more comprehensive policies at the federal level. 


The Department has also supported legislative proposals like the FAMILY Act, which would create a national paid family and medical leave program. These initiatives aim to make family leave more accessible and equitable for all workers.
