ABOUT THE IRWINDALE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

OUR VISION: To be the premier Chamber of Commerce, leading the way for others.
 
OUR MISSION: It is the mission of the Irwindale Chamber of Commerce to BUILD solid relationships and provide quality services which SUPPORT chamber members and businesses, in order to DRIVE the economic vitality of our community.

Our membership consists of business owners, professionals, community leaders and government officials who are dedicated to working together to enhance and improve our community. We assist our members through promotion, education and information important to the success of their businesses. Our activities and committees have been structured to respond to the needs our members and to promote a strong local economy and a vibrant community.
 
As the voice for business, we believe the effectiveness and success of the Chamber depends on our credibility and representation of the community’s business interests. With you, we are that much more representative, more credible and more effective.
 
We are committed to increasing the visibility of the Chamber and its membership continuously through our actions. This will assure a level of respectability and responsibility associated with being affiliated with the Irwindale Chamber of Commerce. 

INVOLVEMENT WITH A PURPOSE

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is made up of 16 volunteer leaders who are elected by the general membership. The Board of Directors are all decision makers within their companies. Each may serve up to three two-year terms. The members of the board represent all types of businesses from sole proprietors to large national corporations and include many ethnicities. This diversity allows us to develop policies and strategies that have greater impact for our unique business needs. 

Business Ambassadors

The MISSION of the BUSINESS AMBASSADORS is to connect and strengthen business relationships, communicate chamber benefits, bring exposure to its members and help businesses reach their ultimate goals. The Business Ambassadors are among the most active. They participate in numerous special events throughout the year, providing the Chamber with hundreds of hours of volunteer time in addition to attending monthly Chamber-sponsored functions. Active participation by Business Ambassadors helps to improve communication within the business community, which in turn strengthens the image of the Chamber. 

Cornerstone Club

The Cornerstone Club was created to prominently recognize businesses whose continual support has been instrumental in the growth of the Irwindale business community through the Chamber of Commerce. Cornerstone Club members receive expanded visibility throughout the year by prominent inclusion in the Chamber's newsletter, website, and business directory and at numerous special events. 

Nonprofit Alliance

This committee of the Irwindale Chamber which started in 2015 brings together member nonprofits throughout the region. The Alliance will provide a spirit of cooperation in highlighting the needs of the nonprofit community in a cohesive and meaningful way. The Alliance will meet quarterly to discuss issues and concerns facing their organizations and how best to communicate their current needs to the business community. The Non Profit Alliance will be highlighted at the December Holiday Luncheon which provides each member non-profit organization to give a short presentation. 

Toastmasters Club 9811

The Irwindale Chamber has their very own Toastmasters Club and all members are invited to become part of this group. Those who have to do any sort of public speaking can gain a great deal of skills and tips from the club and its members who represent a warm and friendly audience all trying to help each other achieve excellence in their public speaking abilities. The Toastmasters Club meets on the First and Third Wednesdays of each month at 8 a.m. at the Irwindale Community Center.

PARTNERSHIPS

Irwindale Educational Foundation (IEF)

The Irwindale Educational Foundation, a 501c3 tax-exempt nonprofit organization originating in 1987 is dedicated to the betterment of the citizenry of Irwindale and its youth. This program benefits not only the residential community of Irwindale but also the businesses that are located in Irwindale and who are members in good standing with the Irwindale Chamber of Commerce. Those eligible to apply are residents, Irwindale business owners and their employees and family members. One of the biggest fundraisers IEF holds is "BBQ on the Green". The IEF BBQ at the Pub is held the third Friday of July at the MillerCoors Pub. A lively, fun event featuring great food, fun activities, a raffle, music and community camaraderie provides funds for scholarships.
